Physical effort, emotions, decision-making and relationships in traditional sporting games and sports

Physical effort, emotions, decision-making and relationships in traditional sporting games and sports.

This research area studies motor behaviour as observed externally and motor conduct as behaviour that has subjective meaning for each person. It takes a systemic, integrative view in which any motor intervention engages physiological, emotional, cognitive and relational dimensions at the same time. Within motor praxeology, participants in sporting games and sports are understood to make decisions, experience emotions, form interpersonal relationships and have physiological responses that interact throughout play.

The main objective is to understand motor behaviour and motor conduct in their full complexity, beyond approaches that isolate physical or technical performance. The research examines indicators of physical effort, emotions, decision-making and social interaction together across a variety of motor situations.

The research pays particular attention to traditional sporting games and sports because they offer a setting for studying how the internal logic of motor practices produces different experiences in each dimension. It examines how game and sport features simultaneously influence the intensity of effort, the quality of emotional experiences, the decisions taken in action and the relationships that form among participants.

This research area uses mixed, multidimensional methods to bring together information from different sources. It combines physiological and physical load records, emotion assessment tools, sociometric techniques, observation of motor conduct and advanced statistical procedures to identify relationships between variables from different dimensions of motor action.

The 360° approach makes it possible to develop more complete explanatory models of motor situations. It also provides evidence for designing educational and sporting initiatives that support overall well-being and decision-making.
